“THIS DOOR IS ALARMED”, though of what
Only a door could tell.
Perhaps something coming through it
Triggered a warning bell
But crossing points easily spark
Feelings of fear and doubt.
To be one forever might make
Anyone sane get out
But if the door was to move
Backwards or forwards, we
Would go in and out just the same
A crossing it still would be.
Pretty obvious – this poem is sparked by those disconcerting signs which say “THIS DOOR IS ALARMED” (if that door is alarmed, I should be scared shitless!)
