Steps

STEPS

Hard to know what comes down

These stone steps

Save people and rain

Silently, fox in the night

Sunlight at dawn

Ants moving home

Where that blue peeling door

Window with bricks sealed shut

Lead, or the muddy track

Through snaring bramble runs,

Those are concealed.

Hey, Simon–I don’t have much of a comment for this one; I like the first stanza–what I wanted to say was, I looked up that Quaker pastor/author for you. It’s Philip Gulley, and the only title I could find on that series of novels I like so well, is “Home to Harmony”–but I know there were several, so can’t tell you if this is the first of the series or not. You may not be particularly interested–but I really like his stories, characters. God bless you today.
